At Broadmeadow Schools, we are committed to ensuring every child has the support they need to thrive. We encourage all families to register with our Free School Meals (FSM) checking system, even if you do not currently believe you are eligible.
Many families are entitled to support without realising it. A change in circumstances—even for a short period—can trigger eligibility. By registering, you help in two ways:
For your child: Eligible students receive a nutritious free meal every day, which helps with concentration and learning. This is worth up to £526.50 per year per child.
For the school: For every child registered, the school receives £1,515 in additional "Pupil Premium" funding (2025/26 rates). This vital funding is used to provide extra staffing, learning resources, and after-school opportunities that benefit your child directly.
Automatic Checking: Once you have registered, the system automatically checks your eligibility every week. If your circumstances change, we are notified immediately, ensuring you never miss out.
Privacy & Discretion: The system is fully supported by the Department for Education (DfE). No one in the school community—including teachers or other students—will know who is receiving free school meals.
Data Security (GDPR): The system is fully GDPR compliant. The school does not see your private financial details or income; we only receive a notification of "Eligible" or "Not Eligible."
No Obligation: Even if your child prefers a packed lunch, registering still secures the extra Pupil Premium funding for the school to support their education.
Applying is quick and simple. There are no lengthy paper forms; the online system provides an instant decision.
