At Broadmeadow Schools, we continuously strive to ensure that everyone is treated with respect and dignity. We believe that all children have a right to a full and rounded education and should be given fair and equal opportunities to develop their full potential.
Our provision is in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2014). We ensure that teachers are able to identify and provide for pupils with special educational needs, allowing them to join in all school activities together with their peers.

We follow a cycle known as the "Graduated Approach" to ensure that support is tailored to the individual child and is regularly reviewed for impact.
Assess: We identify the child’s needs through teacher observation, internal assessments, and parental input.
Plan: We agree on the adjustments, interventions, and support required, along with the expected impact on progress.
Do: The class teacher remains responsible for working with the child daily, implementing the agreed support.
Review: We meet with parents (at least termly) to evaluate the impact of the support and decide on any changes.
We provide support across the four broad areas of need:
Communication and Interaction
Cognition and Learning
Social, Emotional, and Mental Health
Sensory and/or Physical Needs
Specific interventions available at Broadmeadow include Little Wandle Phonics, Sensory Circuits, and ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) sessions.
We work closely with various professionals to ensure our pupils receive the best possible expertise. These include but are not limited to:
Communication and Autism Team (CAT)
Educational Psychology Service
Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT)
Pupil School Support Services
