Due to the rapid intensification of Storm Goretti—described by meteorologists as a "weather bomb"—the West Midlands has experienced significant snowfall and freezing temperatures overnight.
Following a thorough assessment of the school grounds and the surrounding travel conditions, we have determined that the site and local roads are currently unsafe for our pupils, parents, and staff. Consequently, the school will be closed today.
Safety and Wellbeing First our primary focus during extreme weather events is the safety and wellbeing of our school community. We believe it is important that families stay safe and warm during these hazardous conditions.
Day 1: A Wellbeing Focus As this is the first day of our weather-related closure, there is no expectation for formal remote learning today. Instead, we encourage our pupils to focus on their wellbeing. Whether that means enjoying the snow safely or staying cozy indoors, we want our children to have a break from the screen before any potential remote learning begins if the closure continues into a second day.
Stay Informed We expect to be open as usual to start the new week. Should there be any further disruption, we will update you via the Arbor App, but otherwise, we look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday morning.
