At Broadmeadow, we use the PE and Sport Premium to make sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport we offer. This funding ensures that our pupils have access to high-quality coaching, competitive opportunities, and a wide variety of physical activities.

Broadmeadow Infant School

Total Funding Received: £17,000

Ensures all children can access a variety of sports with high-quality, sufficient equipment.

Provided Year 1 and 2 students the opportunity to compete in virtual multi-skills competitions.

Sustainability Measures:

After-school Clubs: Families contribute to the cost of clubs, ensuring these can continue if premium funding is withdrawn.

Equipment: Ongoing equipment costs will be incorporated into the core budget or supported by sponsored events.

Competitions: Future participation may be funded through fundraising or small parental contributions.

Broadmeadow Junior School

12 playleaders were trained to run playground activities; students competed in Year 3, 4, and 5 virtual competitions.

Staff Development (RealPE) £299400

Increased staff subject knowledge, ensuring children build skills progressively as they move through the school.

 

Sustainability Measures:

Curriculum Integration: Staff training and Real PE memberships are viewed as integral to the curriculum and will be funded by the core budget moving forward.

Student Leadership: The training of student play leaders creates a self-sustaining culture of activity on the playground.

Financial Planning: Live events and competitions will rely on parental contributions or fundraising to remain viable in the future.

Year 6 Swimming Competency

The following data represents the swimming attainment of our Year 6 cohort at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year:

Swim competently, confidently, and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres: 39%

Use a range of strokes effectively (e.g., front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke): 21% 

Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations: 55%
